Smoking Tobacco – Is it your right??

Smoking tobacco, Humans have been doing it for centuries. Why is it then that state and local governments have, for the past 20 years or so been passing law after law to ‘protect’ non-smokers?

Is it our right to be able to smoke freely? I personally believe that smoking tobacco is our right, as long as I don’t ‘push’ it on somebody else. Hey, i’m an adult, I know there are health reasons to give up smoking, and, when the time is right I will. But until that time arrives, I would like to be able to smoke in peace. I can understand the no smoking laws in restaurants, but in bars?? Why not just give the bar owner the choice to make it a smoking or non-smoking establishment? That seems to make more sense to me, instead they pass that stupid law and as a result many bars in my neighborhood have closed down. Good work government!!

What do you think. Are the smoking laws justifiable or just plain stupid, designed to raise a few bucks at our expense under the guise of public safety..

Hi Everyone!

If you’re like me you’re getting pretty sick and tired with the constant tax increases and ridiculous laws designed to make us quite smoking. When the hell is the government going to realize that we are adults and we don’t need big brother to tell us what we can and cannot do. Here in NY smokes are nearing $9 a pack. That’s friggin ridiculous. Yet for that same money I can go and buy a couple of six packs with no problem or ‘taxation for safety’ , yet a DUI is a crime. Last time I checked smoking wasn’t (or at least not yet).

Ahh, my first rant. And it felt good.

Anyone else have a rant to contribute?
